This delicious rosemary-apple bread has only 1/3 of the fat that typical loafs do! Feel good about the rosemary in this loaf, which is known to boost your memory and improve your mood!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 package quick-rise yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1 cup warm water (100° to 110°)
- 1 cup diced peeled Granny Smith apple (about 1 small)
- Olive oil
Directions:
- Combine ¾ cups of flour, rosemary, salt, and yeast in a mixing bowl, whisking to combine. Slowly mix in water until a soft dough forms. Knead on a flat surface until smooth, adding the remaining flour as needed.
- Cover and let dough rest for 5 minutes. Knead diced apple into the mixture. Place dough in a large bowl and coat lightly with olive oil. Let mixture rest for 10 minutes.
- Gently press dough into a loaf or bread pan coated with olive oil. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45 minutes until golden brown. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove and continue cooling on a wire rack.
